Canadian born and Jamaican raised, singer Face-T is a veteran of the reggae/dancehall scene. He was only three years old when he moved to Jamaica with his mother. He spent the next twelve years of his life growing up in Westmoreland and, naturally, was initiated to reggae and dancehall music.
In 2002 Face-T teamed up with Rebel to form Kulcha Connection. They released two albums in Canada and in France and gained major radio succes with their two first singles, selling over 40 000 copies. In 2007 Face-T started to work and tour with DJ/producer Poirier (Ninja Tune, Mixpak). The pair did many tracks together, with soundclash tunes like “Wha-La-La-Leng” and “Enemies”. They collaborated with electro kings Crookers on the smash hit “Arena”. Finally, Face-T’s first solo album “Tuff Like Stone” came out in 2012. Produced by Poirier and Scorpio B, the 13-track album covers a wide spectrum of Jamaican influenced riddims from roots vibes to dancehall energy all led by Face-T’s heavy hitting raw vocals. His latest single “We Rule The Area” got the remix treatment by established names like Mungo’s Hi Fi, Dreadsquad and Dubmatix.
