KEETY ROOTS BIOGRAFIA
London-based Keety Roots started making music from the age of 18 when he started making dubs in Vibes Studio, producing dubs for Jah Warrior, Aba Shanti I and other sounds. He set up his record label, Black Legacy, in the early '90s, releasing singles and albums by himself and collaborations with Tena Stelin, Naphtali, Carlton Livingston and Mike Brooks amongst others. He continues to supply some of the roughest dubplates in the UK Dub scene to all the major soundsystems as well as releasing a steady stream of vinyl on 7", 10" and 12".
Keety Roots is an all round musician, singer, producer and engineer who's been in the reggae business for more than 20 years. Starting out at the now legendary Vibes Studio in east London during the late 1980's where he formed a partnership with Vibes owner Blacka, he later started his own Black Legacy Records label. Working with local artists like Tena Stelin, Naph-Tali and Shane Tuff, Keety went on to work with yard artists including Prince Alla, Carlton Livingstone, Creation Stepper, Mike Brooks and Tony Tuff.
Keety Roots is a producer with traditional roots values, producing well thought out music which always carries a spiritual message of rasta faith combined with a cry for social justice for the poor and oppressed, wherever they may be on the earth. This album comes showcase style with vocals and dubs. There are no quickly made 4 bar steppers loops to satisfy students on a night out at a "Dub Rave". Instead, what you'll find is roots music for the thinking man (or woman). Music which will make you move your feet but which will also make you think. And that's something which is not always found in today's new roots music.
